Taylor, Mississippi is a small town with a rich history, a close-knit community, and important public information that residents need to access easily.
When the town came to Pixel Drift Marketing, their existing website was no longer serving the community well.
The site had security concerns, broken links, missing images, and outdated navigation. Critical public documents and postings were difficult to find, and the town did not have a clear logo or visual identity to represent its history and character.
Pixel Drift Marketing helped Taylor rebuild its online presence from the ground up with a new town logo, a clean and user-friendly website, easier access to public documents, and simple tools the town staff could manage moving forward.

Taylor needed more than a visual refresh. The town needed a dependable, organized, and easy-to-update website that could serve both residents and town staff.
Before the redesign, the website had several issues:
Security concerns that made the site difficult to trust and maintain
Broken links that created frustration for residents
Images that would not load properly
No consistent town logo or brand identity
Public documents and important postings that were difficult to locate
No simple way for the town clerk to update documents and community information
No centralized calendar for town events
No easy connection between website updates and social media notices

For a municipality, these issues are more than cosmetic. A town website needs to be a reliable source of information. Residents should be able to quickly find meeting notices, documents, events, contact information, and community updates without confusion.

The goal was to give Taylor a website that felt appropriate for a small town: welcoming, simple, useful, and easy to maintain.
Pixel Drift Marketing created a new website and brand foundation designed around clarity, usability, and long-term manageability.
A custom town logo inspired by Taylor’s history and connection to cotton
A new website with clean navigation and a more professional look
Organized pages for town information, public documents, and community updates
An easy-to-manage backend so the town clerk can upload documents and make updates
A Google Calendar setup for town events and meetings
An embedded calendar on the website so residents can view upcoming events in one place
An embedded Facebook feed so notices shared on social media could also appear on the website
Improved access to town contact information and important resources
A more stable and secure website structure

The goal was to give Taylor a website that felt appropriate for a small town: welcoming, simple, useful, and easy to maintain.
Taylor did not have an official town logo to use across the website and community communications.
Pixel Drift created a logo inspired by the town’s history and its connection to cotton, giving the town a recognizable visual identity rooted in place and heritage.
The new logo helped make the website feel more complete, intentional, and representative of the community it serves
A major priority was making the site easier for residents to navigate.
The new website was organized so visitors could quickly find the information they are most likely looking for, including town documents, meeting information, contact details, community updates, and events.
Instead of residents having to search through outdated pages or broken links, the new structure gives them a clearer path to the information they need.
The site was also built with the town clerk in mind. Taylor needed a website that could be updated without relying on a developer for every small change.
Pixel Drift created a structure that allows the clerk to add documents, update information, post notices, and keep the site current more easily.
This helps reduce administrative friction and makes the website more sustainable for a small-town staff.
To make communication easier, Pixel Drift set up and embedded a Google Calendar for town events. This allows the town to add events in one place and have them automatically appear on the website.
The town’s Facebook page was also embedded into the site so important social media updates and notices could be seen by residents who visit the website.
This created a more connected communication system and helped ensure important information could be shared across platforms more efficiently.
The new website gives residents an easier way to find town information, documents, events, and updates. It gives town staff a simpler way to keep information current. And it gives the town a visual identity that reflects its history and community pride.
For Pixel Drift Marketing, this project reflects the kind of practical, affordable digital support small organizations often need most: a better website, clearer communication, easier updates, and tools that help the people behind the scenes do their work more efficiently.
"I’m an older financial tech guy and I’ve been called in from retirement…again! Our small North Mississippi town had a WordPress website that was built by Mississippi State University about 10 years ago. Sometime after my 2nd retirement, 5 years ago, the programs at MSU changed and our website was “spun off” to Network Solutions. When I renewed the hosting at NS last November the security (SSL) disappeared. I’ve been trying to resolve this issue since then but the “Spin Off” was a corrupted multi-site mess. Their tech crew was unable to reestablish security.
Christa, a realtor in Alabama was trying to retrieve our Development Ordinance for her client. The security issue kept her from accessing it. I was able to steer her to a different browser which allowed access. I mentioned my struggle with the website and she put me in touch with her GREAT friend Lisa at Pixel Drift Marketing.
Lisa was able to access the old website and other sources and put together a simple yet complete replacement site…in 1 week. We are up and running with a clean and secure GoHighLevel website that provides access to all of my required info and documents intact. The speed and accuracy of Lisa’s efforts is amazing. The website she put together is impressive while very easy to use. And I feel like I now have a GREAT friend to whom I can direct folks who need fast professional website and marketing services at a very reasonable cost. THANKS LISA and THANKS CHRISTA!!"
